Management Information System

.
Here, my summary of 10 links that I have read on Mr. Rudi’s blog about Management System Information that covers hypertext, hypermedia, and multimedia.
MIS ( Management Information System) is  a system that provides information needed to manage organizations effectively. It is involve three primary resources: Technology, Information, and People. It's important to recognize that while all three resources are key components when studying management information systems, the most important resource is people (http://vincentpage.blogspot.com/).

Nowadays, computer technology and  internet is very close to our life. Almost all people in the world use the internet for communication, for studying, and for business. The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks that use the standard Internet Protocol Suite (TCP/IP) to serve billions of users worldwide. In education field, the power of internet lies in offering authentic materials, software, education plans, list of exams, literature, etc. to schools, universities, and institutions all over the world but under the same conditions. (http://www.pc-os.org/helpful-management-information-systems/).
One of the important parts of the internet is HTML  which stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. Without html, a website will not be informative, presentable and cannot be recognized (http://vincentpage.blogspot.com/). The other important part is multimedia which relates to Hypertext and hypermedia. Multimedia is the field concerned with the computer-controlled integration of text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images (Video), animation, audio, and any other media where every type of information can be represented, stored, transmitted and processed digitally (http://www.cs.cf.ac.uk/Dave/ISE_Multimedia/node10.html). Hypertext  is basically the same as regular text - it can be stored, read, searched, or edited - with an important exception: hypertext is text with pointers to other text. The browsers let you deal with the pointers in a transparent way -- select the pointer, and you are presented with the text that is pointed to.. Hypermedia is a superset of hypertext. Hypermedia documents contain links not only to other pieces of text, but also to other forms of media - sounds, images, and movies. Images themselves can be selected to link to sounds or documents. This means that browsers might not display a text file, but might display images or sound or animations. Hypermedia simply combines hypertext and multimedia (http://www.rc.au.net/papers/www-0595/wwwhype2.html ).
